ob description Fully funded PhD studentships transforming the water industry The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Water Infrastructure and Resilience (CDT WIRe) is producing the future leaders in water science and engineering. Our 4-year PhD studentships explore all aspects of the water sector, from source to sink, and beyond. Research areas include: Water and wastewater treatment and distribution system Nature-based solutions for urban water management Public health Decarbonisation Emerging contaminants Policy and governance Why apply for a WIRe PhD? You will have the opportunity to develop solutions that consider the complexity of water infrastructure through whole systems thinking with access to world-leading water infrastructure testing facilities. Supported by more than 30 industry and end-user partners, you will: Work on PhD projects that have each been co-created with industry sponsors Carry out an industrial placement and/or an overseas placement, supported by generous funding Benefit from a bespoke training programme and access to large-scale experimental facilities Receive an annual, tax-free enhanced stipend, with fees paid for eligible students Who can apply? Applicants should have a minimum of a UK upper second-class degree (2.1), or equivalent, and preferably an MSc in a relevant subject.
