Deadline: May 25, 2026
Details
Job description:
Applications are invited for a Ph.D. fellowship at the University of Clermont-Auvergne (France), to be carried out at the Laboratoire de Physique de Clermont-Auvergne (LPCA), under the co-supervision of Ana M. Teixeira and Salvador Rosauro-Alcaraz.
The Ph.D. fellowship will be funded by the Ecole Doctorale des Sciences Fondamentales (EDSF) of the UCA. The envisaged duration is 3 years, starting in the fall of 2026. The deadline to apply is May 25 2026, via the dedicated interface. Further information about EDSF can be found here.
The selected candidate is expected to work on particle physics scenarios beyond the Standard Model, with special emphasis on those addressing the origin of neutrino masses, and their related phenomenology.
The student will become part of the LPCA Theory Group currently composed of 5 permanent members and two Ph.D. students. The interests of the LPCA Theory Team include physics beyond the Standard Model, flavour physics (hadronic and leptonic), neutrino physics and dark matter. The group maintains good connections with experimental groups at the LPCA, in particular LHCb, ATLAS, Future Colliders, COMET and also the CKMFitter collaboration. The successful candidate will thus have extensive opportunities to interact with colleagues from other experimental groups.
Preliminary selection will be based on qualifications: the candidate is expected to submit a CV (including higher education track, degrees and exams, scientific skills, and any other relevant information), a motivation letter (including physics interests and general motivation to apply) to the address application.th-lpc@clermont.in2p3.fr; the candidate should also arrange for at least 2 letters of recommendation to be also sent to the address application.th-lpc@clermont.in2p3.fr
The candidate must directly apply to the EDSF via the following link, where the official announcement and further information can be found.
The selection will be completed via two interviews, the first one with the supervisors, followed by a formal audition with the Scientific and Pedagogical Council of the doctoral school.
Contact: Rosauro-Alcaraz, Salvador (salvador.rosauro@clermont.in2p3.fr); Teixeira, Ana M. (ana.teixeira@clermont.in2p3.fr)
Letters of Reference should be sent to: application.th-lpc@clermont.in2p3.fr
