PhD Position in mathematical physics

I am currently hiring for a PhD at the Camille Jordan Institute in Lyon/Saint-Etienne area in France starting in September/October 2026 for 3 years. I am looking for a candidate with a Master in either mathematical physics or geometry. The topic of the PhD is related to exact Borel resummation for integrable differential equations with connections in topological recursion and applications towards random matrix theory and topological string theory. No prior knowledge in these areas is required. The topic is quite vast and can be adapted depending on the background and desire of the candidate. The PhD can be carried out in English or French so no French level is required at the beginning of the PhD. The PhD proposal will be funded (approximately 2300€ per month gross salary) for three years with possible additional teaching duties for extra money.
