RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Interdisciplinary work at the intersection of biochemistry, epigenetics, genetics and
computational biology, focusing on the organisation and regulation of mRNA
transcription in ciliates, as part of the DFG-funded project "The divergent PolII
complex of Paramecium: transcription initiation, pausing and elongation without Rpb1
heptad repeats and NELF"
- Application of state-of-the-art chromatin analysis in combination with NGS
processing procedures: ChIP-seq, MNase-seq and Pro-seq to characterise
chromatin and transcriptional activity in wild-type and knockdown cell cultures
- Development of novel wet-lab methods for proximity-labeling based analysis of
protein complexes in ciliates, structural analysis and phosphoproteomics
- Joint development and publication of scientific articles, presentation of results at
workshops and conferences
- Publication of research results in scientific journals, as well as at specialist
