PhD Position in Stochastic Fluid Mechanics

Dear all, I would like to share an open PhD position at the University of Duisburg–Essen (Faculty of Mathematics), within the DFG Priority Programme SPP 2410 – “Hyperbolic Balance Laws in Fluid Mechanics: Complexity, Scales, Randomness (CoScaRa)”. The position is part of the project “Compressible Euler equations with transport noise”, which focuses on the analysis of stochastic partial differential equations in fluid mechanics. In particular, the project studies transport noise effects, measure-valued martingale solutions, and related questions in the theory of compressible Euler and Navier–Stokes systems. Your profile: - Excellent degree (MSc or equivalent) in mathematics - Strong background in analysis and/or partial differential equations - Interest in stochastic analysis and fluid mechanics - Independent and structured way of working - Very good written and spoken English We offer: - A 3-year position - Employment at 75% TV-L E13 salary level (German public sector) - The opportunity to work on current research topics in stochastic PDEs and fluid mechanics - Integration into an active research environment within SPP 2410 - The possibility to pursue a PhD in mathematics - Collaboration opportunities within a national research network - A supportive and family-friendly research environment.
